Congress will hold a hearing on potential Section 230 reforms this week
Frances Whistleblower Haugen will once again appear before the congress. On Wednesday, December 1, home and trade subcommittee on communication and technology will hold hearing dedicated to discuss the potential of “targeted reforms” to Section 230 of the communications courtesy law.
Haugen is one of the handful of Democratic Democratic Witnesses to testify. He will join Rashad Robinson, president of color change, and James Steye from common sense media. The Subcomitta Party will also call a witness. The second panel later on will display additional testimonies from organizations such as free press actions.
The last time Haugen testified before the Congress in October when he appeared before the Senate Trade Committee. In his opening statement, Haugen urged parliamentarians to impose new regulations on his former employer. “The options made on Facebook are disasters for our children, our public safety, our privacy and for our democracy,” he said at that time. Haugen’s second testimony will come only a few days before Adam Mosseri, Head Instagram, will take part in a series of senate hearings dedicated to online protection for children.
