First MediaTek Dimensity 9000-powered device may arrive only in February
When Mediatek managed to put the next generation chipset to the initial post ahead of its competitors from Qualcomm, we believe that the smartphone powered by them will reach our hands this year. However, it seems that now the cellphone powered by the dimensity of 9000 flagship only arrived in February.
From the perspective of the telephone user, this is rather underwhelming because the smartphone with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen1 SOC must arrive at the beginning of December and most definitely at the beginning of 2022. You can see a glimpse of the handset with the superior chipset this is scheduled for launch.
Coming to MediaTek, news about the possibility of delays coming in a report about GSMarena, which quoted unnamed tips on Weibo. Tipster claims that the first smartphone powered by the dimensity of MediaTek 4NM 9000 SOC will hit the shelf in February.
What about Snapdragon 8 Gen1?
In comparison, Xiaomi 12 is rumored to be launched on December 12, although what we have now is the Social POS Tipster to confirm this date. Other devices that speculate to bring Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chipset include Samsung Galaxy S22, Oneplus 10 Pro, Redmi K50 Pro, Realm GT 2 Pro, Oppo Find X4 and Iqoo 9.
This is something we, as smartphone lovers, can’t really understand. Because, in the past 12 months, MediaTek shifts to focus away from turning on a cheaper device and shifts to the upper middle end segment with a view for 5G democratization. It helps companies become 40 percent marketshare and become part of the club that has Qualcomm and Samsung.
What’s special about the dimensity of MediaTek 900?
The new chipset was announced at a mediatek conference a week ago which it was announced that the processor was built with a 4nm fabrication process, making it the only chipset in this category.
Soc also boasts some of the first few – including the first one including Bluetooth 5.3 for wireless connectivity and the first 5G sub-6GHz cellular chipset to accommodate the core-x2 core which can power the arm-based computing device that is always connected. This core is clocked up to 3.05GHz.
Other features of this extreme chipset include LPDDR5x memory with speeds of up to 7500 Mbps, Multimode 5G / 4G modems, and downlinks to 7Gbps and 3cc carrier aggregation.
However, we feel that even though the company does take the SOC Gen1 Snapdragon 8 series, we need to wait more time to check performance. However, the new chipset indeed exceeded the android flagship benchmark score with similar scores as SOCS 2021 from Qualcomm and A15 A15 Apple chipset.
The fact that the dimensity of MediaTek 9000 built in the 4NM process can mean that the chipset is in front of the iPhone 14 microprocessor, it is said as the A16 Bionic built in the 5NM process. These provisions refer to the chipset craft process where smaller numbers means the processor can be condensed, making it capable of more power and better efficiency.
