Minisforum EliteMini HM90 mini PC workstation review
MinisForum EliteMini HM90 is the latest mini PC workstation that we test from this Chinese company, one which is continuously surprisingly by packing a very fast processor into a small chassis and selling it at a reasonable price. HM90 continues this tradition: appears with AMD Ryzen 9 4900h APU, either with £ 479, £ 358, AU $ 664) or one with 16GB or 32GB RAM and 512GB SSD ($ 649 / $ 759, £ 485 / £ 568, Au $ 899 / au $ 1,052). The last two versions are equipped with Windows 10 Pro and plus a number of ports and wireless connectivity.
As expected, this is a very strong but affordable mini PC, is built strongly with almost all competitors at this price point, in this form factor and remember the shortage of global components today. That said, if the size or shape factor is not a problem, then you might get a better purchase of desktop XPS 0940 Dell XPS 0940 or even a laptop like the touch of Dell Inspiron 15. Note that the product is currently preorder and will be sent to the end of November 2021 .
Design
HM90 is a little bigger than I expected with a brushed aluminum coating on what looks like plastic; White is another dominant color. The top plate is surrounded by gaps and slightly lifted to allow air outstanding better; It is also flavored with holes for the same reason.
The Mini PC side is also full of gaps that allow heatsink to evacuate extra heat more effectively.
Register connector – which can be found on the front and at the back – surprisingly remembering the device size (149 x 149 x 55.5mm): Two audio ports, HDMI 2.0, two LAN ports (2.5g and 1g), DisplayPort plus seven USB ports . Overall, the device can power on three surprising 4K monitors (full size DP, type-C and HDMI), making it a strong video editing PC or business PC.
