Blade Runner and Alien TV shows are in the works, Ridley Scott says
Both Blade Runner and Aliens came to the small screen, Director of Ridley Scott has confirmed. TV shows for both franchises are in work but can still explode, considering Scott does not divulge when we can expect our event.
“We [already] wrote a pilot for blade runners and the Bible. So, we have presented Blade Runner as a TV show, the first 10 hours”, Scott told BBC radio 4 today on Monday.
Scott also mentioned the existence of alien TV shows, which seemed a little further because the show the show (general outline of the first episode of the show) was still in the process of being written.
Mention TV shows are not the only actions of the Blade Runner franchise have seen after releasing the film Blade Runner 2049 five years ago. The first episode of Blade Runner: Black Lotus first anime earlier in November too; Obviously the property will remain busy for a while.
The alien franchise has been a little more active, at least in the entertainment room, since Alien 2017: Agreement, who received reception of lukewarms during the release. Scott did not mention the story like what would be told by alien TV, so it still had to be seen if it would give a fresh shot on the arms many who felt the franchise needs.
Analysis: Does Scott the right man for the job?
The original blade runner and alien film are the two most influential sci-fi films of all time. Their impact on popular culture permeates to today, and many of the credit must go to their director, Ridley Scott.
But Scott’s efforts have recently been in foreign franchises less than stars. The two Prometheus (which he called “was easily made in 3D”) and the alien agreement failed to replicate the success of the two first epics.
It is not to say one project is destined to fail. Episodic format can greatly benefit the blade runner and aliens, especially in the last case. In recent years, we have seen a series of horror like Netflix’s Sweet Home and haunts Hill House charming audience. There is no reason the alien series cannot achieve the same thing, especially if the features of the classic aesthetic mixture of aliens and modern horror sensibility.
More positive, our minds rotate on the possibility of what can be offered by the TV shows of a large budget runner blade. After a knife runner 2049 aesthetic cyberpunk neon-wet so-wet (not to mention the brilliant continuation of the original story) made us hypnotized, we want to return the world and hopefully some of the icon characters too.
