Are you an Airtel prepaid user? Be ready to pay 25% extra
The Indian telecommunication price war between three main operators – Airtel, Jio and Vodafone-ideas have produced the challenges of profitability. With the emergence of 5G operations in this country, the only way this operator can generate higher income is to increase costs for consumers. Now, the airtel seems to have set a ball rolling with hikes throughout the board in his prepaid plan.
One of the main reasons behind the increase in package prices is that airtel wants higher average income per user (ARPU). Until now, Airtel obtained Rs 153 per user and aimed at reaching Rs 200 with the current price surge.
The cheapest package offered by airtel is available at Rs 99 for a period of 28 days. The price of the plan has increased by 25%. This plan also excludes text messaging facilities. If you need ‘SMS’ then you can choose the RS 179 package and above.
New Prices of Popular Airtel Plans
In a statement from Airtel, the company has provided details of new plans and improvements offered. RS 219 Plan offers 1GB of data per day and unlimited calls and 100 SMS per day is now available at RS 265. RS 598 Plan with 24 days of validity, 1.5GB data per day, unlimited calls, and 100 SMS per day, and 100 Now available for Rs 719.
Some plans as used for top-up data packets are now more expensive by 20%. Airtel officials have stated that price increases are needed to improve connectivity solutions. The new price of all airtla plans will take effect from November 26.
Because airtel has now arranged a rolling ball, it is expected that other people like the idea of Jio and Vodafone can follow.
A few months ago, both Airtel and VI (Vodafone idea) increased the price of family centric plans and several postpaid plans. CEO in VI, Ravinder Takkar, has announced that the price of a prepaid plan will soon increase.
